Gatsby benchmarks

 

 

The Gatsby Benchmarks are a framework of eight guidelines that define the best careers provision in secondary schools. Everything we do to meet each of the eight guidelines is listed below.

 

1. A STABLE CAREERS PROGRAMME

  • Careers integrated throughout school including lessons and tutor time activities
  • Strategic lead and management committee oversight

 

2. LEARNING FROM CAREER AND LABOUR MARKET INFORMATION

3. ADDRESSING THE NEEDS OF EACH PUPIL

  • Engaging with Kent Choices

4. LINKING CURRICULUM LEARNING TO CAREERS

  • Curriculum designed with destination focus

5. ENCOUNTERS WITH EMPLOYERS AND EMPLOYEES

  • Work place visits
  • Cultural capital calendar
  • Enterprise and marketing added to curriculum
  • Enterprise events (Bluewater marketing)
  • Enterprise events including producing, marketing and selling with profits going to charity.
