Admissions

NWKAPS provides advice, assessment, and therapeutic and educational intervention to help the most challenging, troubled and disaffected pupils return to mainstream schools in Gravesham and Dartford, with the intention that permanent exclusions will no longer be necessary.

At KS3, the prime aim is to support re-integration into school. At KS4, full-time attendance at NWKAPS may be most suitable for some pupils.

Schools are allocated places, with NWKAPS and home schools working collaboratively to ensure students’ needs are fully met.

A small number of additional “emergency” places can be allocated at the Gravesham or Dartford inclusion panels consisting of Head Teachers from the North West of Kent schools. Recommendations to this panel are made once an extensive support programme has been evidenced. This panel convenes approximately 12 times per year.
