School Closure EAI (Isle of Sheppey) – Thursday 8th January

Dear Parents, Carers and Students

Due to the cold weather, we have had another issue with our heating and hot water systems. Currently, we do not have either in the building and are waiting for an engineer to come out and fix it. 

Therefore, the school will be closed today, Thursday 8^th January, whilst this issue is fixed. We will update by 3pm today about opening tomorrow, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this has caused. 

I am so sorry to have to make this decision in the first week back, but alongside the adverse weather conditions expected this afternoon and overnight, it would not be appropriate to open the building with no heating  or hot water.

Each child will receive English and Maths work via Google Classroom or Class Dojo. They will also receive another worksheet with tasks to complete, focusing on further English and Maths work alongside Creative activities and Wellbeing activities.

Our welfare and pastoral team will be calling families to check in and conducting home visits. 

Additionally, we recognise the inconvenience for families and the lack of access to breakfast and hot meals at school for their children, so each family will receive a voucher to the email address on our system.
